My whole luggage put together probably doesn't have a hundred dollars of value in it 😂 (if I have expensive things they are on my person, either in pockets or a bum bag (in an emergency you can't bring bags, but I doubt they'd make you take of one you're wearing around your waist under your coat. The rule is so the luggage can't obstruct other people's path to safety by being dropped or taking time to be retrieved, so I assume a small bag that's secured around your waist for the duration of the whole trip would be exempt)

$50 a night for a condo is $1500 a month high end way more then most will spend 250 on the low end for those that chose to live farther out and 450 to 700 in the city center.

I see the allure, but have a few questions. You are a young guy who’s probably in good health. How is it for older people like in their late 50’s and early 60’s who already are experiencing health issues like diabetes and heart disease? How did you adjust to the “street food”? Even when I was young, I always have gotten sick from eating the local food whenever I traveled to places like Mexico, DR, South America etc. I’m well enough off where I can live nicely in the US even though I could probably live like the Uber rich in a country like Thailand. Just not sure if it’s worth the risk.

Immagine living in this building all day all night everyday?? It will become same old same old in a month. The word “luxurious”that you mentioned repeatedly will only give a first impression, later on like 3-4 month on, all these so call luxurious stuffs will feel like just mundane. Bangkok electric systems are not reliable, what if the power is out even just one day, how crabby it would feel???. Don’t get me wrong, it is very beautiful just as you described, but in a long run, the feeling of 5 stars will be 3 stars.

I think she’s probably missing something without learning thai, coz most of thai people can’t speak english fluently. We can understand almost everything the foreigner’s said but we just can’t create english sentences as well. So if you want to know or understand some thai things , it’s almost impossible to let general thai people on the street explain that clearly in english. And as she is a content creator about thailand ,i think understanding of thai cultures or stories could be useful for her😅 Ps.it’s just my opinion

Yep. Living in Shanghai now as an English teacher for the last 5 years and while my expenses are probably a little more than yours I certainly enjoy a much higher quality of life compared to the UK and further I can save far more with my salary and still spend without having to worry about every little penny like I did back in the UK. I'm almost ready to come back and buy my first property at 60,000 pounds. No mortgage. No loans. Outright fucking buy it with the money I saved up in 5 years. Not many people can say that at the age of 31. What was common 30-40 years ago is now a distant dream for our generation living in the West.

I didn't think $1800 a month is bad. My Social Security check will be about $2,600 a month so I would never have to touch the savings in the bank. But also you didn't mention (for older people) Doctors, meds, etc...
